What you will be doing
We will pick you up at your hotel with private transportation to Chapinero. Here, you'll gain insight into Bogota's graffiti, ranging from simple pieces to expansive murals. The first part culminates in a visit to an urban art gallery, selected based on availability on the tour day. Possible stops include: Visaje Galeria, Peregrino Print Lab, and Beat Bop Gallery, offering an understanding of how graffiti has transcended boundaries traditionally reserved for more conventional art forms. Alternatively, you may opt for a visit to a street artist's workshop to delve deeper into the creative process.
Iconic large-format murals unveil a powerful fusion of art, protest, and memory, providing an unforgettable glimpse into the Colombian reality. For a refreshing break, choose between two unique locations,( contingent on availability): La Casa de la Paz - a space of history, memory, and reconciliation, or a traditional bakery in La Macarena.
You'll participate in a graffiti workshop guided by a local artist. Set in a culturally enriched house/garden, the workshop explores techniques such as spray control, gradient creation, and the generation of three-dimensionality through colour use. Through this hands-on experience, you'll design and imprint your graffiti name on a wall, utilising art as a tool for personal identity and expression.
As the journey concludes, you'll return to your hotel, having approached Bogota's graffiti from various perspectives - a transformative experience that reshapes your perception of art and the city itself.
