What you will be doing
Our local driver/guide will take you from Galway City out into the wilds of Connemara. En route, you will pass beautiful coastal villages, thatched cottages, fields of dry stone walls and vast expanses of bog land.
A quick photo stop at the picturesque Screeb Waterfall.
Another photo stop at Derryclare Lough to view Pines Island.
A chance to wander around the town of Clifden for half an hour. Clifden is the residential and commercial capital of Connemara with historic links to Marconi, Alcock and Brown.
One of the Discovery Points on the Wild Atlantic Way. On a clear day, the view from here has to be seen to be believed.
Your second main stop option is Kylemore Abbey. Your driver/guide will be able to source entry tickets at a discount rate - cash only.
The Quiet Man movie was filmed in Cong, Co. Mayo in the 1960s. This bridge was used in the opening scenes and is still a 'must see' for all John Wayne fans.
Our driver/guide will return you to our departure point on Merchants Road, Galway, where our tour for today concludes. Time to say 'Good Bye' or 'Slan Abhaile' to our driver/guide.

About your host
Wild Atlantic WayWe provide high-quality tours of the west of Ireland, showing you local history and culture in a fun and educational way. We are a family business, based in Galway. The company is currently run by Brendan Joyce, who has been involved in the company since the very beginning. The Joyce family’s love of travel and their native Galway can be traced back to Jackie Joyce, Brendan’s grandfather. Jackie was a Galway farmer whose love and pride for his native area can be seen in his family, still as strong as ever.
