The day begins with a scenic drive through lush landscapes, where you'll have the opportunity to take in the stunning views from various viewpoints. Highlights of the tour include Sete Cidades and the Pineapple Plantation Tour. Sete Cidades are twin lakes nestled in a volcanic caldera. Enjoy plenty of photo opportunities at various viewpoints, such as the Vista do Rei, where you can admire the breathtaking views of the lakes, surrounded by vibrant greenery. During the Pineapple plantation tour, you'll have the chance to learn about the unique methods used to cultivate the world's best pineapples, grown right here in the Azores. It's a fascinating experience that highlights the agricultural traditions of the region and the care that goes into growing these tropical fruits. You'll leave with a deeper appreciation for this local speciality!
What you will be doing
Drive along the west coast and climb Pico do Carvão for views of the north and south coast.
Observe the first small lake and take a short walk to Grota do Inferno viewpoint over the crater and lagoons.
Admire the iconic green and blue lagoon and learn about its name.
Stop by the lagoons for a peaceful experience and different perspectives.
Enjoy a meal at a traditional local restaurant.
Climb to the second highest point to view the volcanic crater and learn about renewable energy from the volcano.
Make several stops to admire the lagoon and island landscapes.
Visit a local pineapple plantation before returning to your accommodation.
