On your Lord of the Rings guided tour, you will discover breathtaking and iconic LOTR scenery such as Isengard, Amon Hen, Lothlórien Forest, The Misty Mountains and Ithilien, and the site of Beorns House from The Hobbit. Hear secret stories shared by local guides who have great insight into the filming of LOTR in Glenorchy and Queenstown. Encounter stunning ancient beech forests, braided rivers and glacier-carved valleys. We will roam through World Heritage Listed Mt Aspiring National Park. You will have a chance to dress up in a Lord of the Rings costume in the Lothlórien Forest. Come away with amazing photos and lasting memories from this unforgettable adventure.

Depart from Queenstown on one of the Top 10 scenic drives in the world up the Glenorchcy road to visit epic scenery and Lord Of The Rings filming locations.
The most scenic lookout in New Zealand
A very relaxed nature walk to a LOTR filming location over the 12-mile canyon foot bridge.
Take some free time to visit one of the most photographed sheds in New Zealand and walk out over the Wharf at the top of Lake Wakatipu to spot Trout and Salmon swimming, Swans feeding and the amazing scenery across to the Humboldt ranges. Enjoy our complementary picnic with assortment of sweet and savoury snacks along with Tea Coffee and refreshments.
We are a Department of Conservation Concessionaire holder and our permits allow our tours to enter and stop in Mt Aspiring National Park to access this ancient forest and visit the actual filming locations from The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Chronicles of Narnia, and more. View up the Dart and Routeburn Valleys.
Stand in the Dart Valley and look at the stunning landscape that opened up thousands of years ago!!! Twenty years ago, Peter Jackson chose this location for Isengard in the epic saga The Lord of the Rings.

🧭 Meeting/pick-up point: Corner of Shotover & Camp Streets, 25 Shotover Street, Queenstown 9300, New Zealand
🗺️ Instructions: If you have selected the 'Main departure Point' for a pickup - ensure you arrive on time to avoid dissapointment. Refunds are not provided for latecomers. Main departure point is outside the Station Information Centre (please wait on the wooden benches on the Camp St Side just down from Marmolada Cafe).

Some kids will not be suited to this tour. If you think your children will get bored/restless in the van, please bring them a book or iPad (with headphones) so as not to disturb the other guests on board.
We run in all weather, all year round, as long as it is safe to do so. Please dress for the season.
