What you will be doing
Upon arrival in Lima, begin your exploration of the historic centre with visits to the Lima Cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Santo Domingo Convent. These iconic landmarks showcase Lima's rich colonial heritage and architectural beauty.
Transfer to Lima Airport for your flight to Arequipa. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your accommodation in this charming city, known for its white volcanic stone architecture and stunning views of the surrounding volcanoes.
Begin your day with a visit to the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home to herds of vicuñas. Continue your journey to Colca Valley, where you'll enjoy stunning views of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. Stop at the Pata Pampa viewpoint to take in the sight of eight majestic volcanoes and the unique stone forest.
Travel to the village of Achoma, where you'll immerse yourself in the local culture. Participate in a traditional Pago a la Tierra (payment to the land) ceremony, learn about ancient farming techniques, and experience the vibrant Wititi dance, a symbol of the area's rich cultural heritage.
Visit the famous Cruz del Condor viewpoint for panoramic views of Colca Canyon and the majestic Andean condors soaring above. Explore the picturesque towns of Maca and Yanque before returning to Arequipa for an evening at leisure.
Fly from Arequipa to Cusco, the Imperial City of the Incas. Upon arrival, explore the Plaza de Armas and visit the stunning Cathedral. Discover the Church of Santo Domingo (Koricancha) and nearby Inca ruins, including Kenko, Puka Pukara, Tampu Machay, and the impressive Sacsayhuamán Fortress.
Explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the town of Pisac with its vibrant craft fair and ancient ruins. After a delicious buffet lunch, continue to Ollantaytambo, an impressive Inca archaeological site. From there, take a scenic train ride to Machu Picchu, where you'll spend the evening at the base of the iconic citadel.
Travel by zigzag bus to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. After a guided tour of the ruins, you'll have time to explore the citadel on your own and take in its breathtaking views. Return to Cusco by train in the afternoon.
Fly from Cusco back to Lima, where you will have the rest of the day free for shopping, exploring, or relaxing. Spend your final night in Lima, soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of the capital city.
Transfer to Lima's airport for your departure flight, concluding your unforgettable journey through Peru.
