What you will be doing
Upon arrival, we will begin our exploration of Lima with a visit to the historic city centre, including the iconic Lima Cathedral, the Government Palace, and Casa Aliaga, one of the oldest colonial houses in the city.
After breakfast, we will head to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Pachacamac, a significant pre-Columbian site. Following a traditional lunch, enjoy a Paso horse show before continuing our journey to Paracas.
Today, we will take a thrilling overflight of the Nazca Lines, an extraordinary collection of ancient geoglyphs. The flight lasts approximately one and a half hours, providing an unparalleled view of 19 famous designs etched into the desert floor.
This morning, we will embark on an excursion to the Ballestas Islands, where you can observe a diverse range of wildlife, including sea lions, penguins, and various bird species. We will also admire the striking Paracas Candelabra, a giant geoglyph carved into the hillside.
We'll visit the Regional Museum of Ica to view its fascinating collection of mummies, ceramics, and textiles from the Paracas and Nazca cultures. Afterwards, we will head to the Oasis of Huacachina, a stunning desert lagoon surrounded by sand dunes, before returning to Lima.
After breakfast, we'll transfer to the airport for our flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, we will continue our journey to the Sacred Valley, a region rich in history and natural beauty.
Today, we will explore the town of Pisac, renowned for its traditional market and impressive Inca ruins. Next, we'll visit Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca site with remarkable terraces. We'll also stop by Chinchero, a picturesque town known for its colonial architecture. Enjoy a peaceful picnic by Laguna Huaypo, a tranquil Andean lake. This evening, we will be treated to a cultural dinner show celebrating Andean gods.
Our day begins with a visit to the Maras salt mines and the Moray agricultural terraces, which were used by the Incas as an experimental farming centre. We will then visit a local community to learn about the preparation of the traditional dish, pachamanca. Afterward, we'll transfer to Ollantaytambo Station for a scenic train ride to Machu Picchu.
Experience a guided tour of the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu, delving into the history and significance of this iconic Inca site. After the tour, we will return to Ollantaytambo Station by train.
In the morning, we will explore Cusco, visiting the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and nearby ruins such as Sacsayhuamán, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will fly back to Lima for a farewell dinner and cultural show to celebrate our journey.
After a memorable trip, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
