Overview
Enjoy the adrenaline at the tropical waters of Sarapiqui Rive with fun guaranteed! We have a perfect outdoor adventure for those who seek to feel an extra dose of adrenaline. Rafting Class 4 level is recommended for paddlers with some experience, capable swimmers and can float on a rapid.
What you will be doing
After driving less than one hour through rural areas, plantations, and towns, you will reach the entry point of the Sarapiquí River, where we'll have the gear fitting and a safety briefing.
Our experienced guides, with a well-synchronised team, will lead the rafting experience together. A second guide will go ahead on a kayak, inspecting each rapid in advance and informing the guide about changes or preventions or simply to assist
After going through some rapids we stop to swim in a pool and eat some tropical fruits. As the river descends, the rapids get calmer, offering chances to observe some wildlife such as river birds, sloths, monkeys, toucans, or frogs. Upon returning from the river we stop at our restaurant La Finquita where we will have a delicious Costa Rican lunch.

About your host
Jacamar Naturalist ToursWe started operations in 1996, in La Fortuna and San Carlos, and was a pioneer in the tourist development of the area, offering some of the first walks to the Arenal Volcano in an organised way. The experience gained through these years allows Jacamar Naturalist Tours to integrate and train some of the best naturalist guides in the country and explore the best tourist destinations with them. As we mature and expand, we maintained the same philosophy of sustainable tourism in each destination, always making a concerted effort to promote the conservation of nature and culture.
For every trip booked, Kodama Travel donates £1 to Just One Tree to restore our forests and the ocean.
